5 pounds of upholstery leather scraps. Sizes and colors vary from bag to bag but bags will have at least two colors. Most of the colors are earth tones: browns, grays, whites, blacks, some blues, and occasionally reds, oranges, pinks, etc. Sizes are irregular in shape but the minimum size is 6" x 8" and the maximum size is around 12" x 18", each bag is different. The leather remnants are between .8 and 1.2 millimeters, which is about the thickness of a dime. Leather is full and top grain with some embossed and suede. Full-grain leather has no imperfections and is ready to be dyed. Top grain generally has marks that must be removed first. Most leather used to make upholstery, clothing, and accessories is top grain. Some of the leather that you receive may have imperfections, but you should be able to work around it if you decide not to use that part of the hide. Most of the leather we receive is just leftover from making furniture. Only 5% is discarded because of a quality issue and if you are making a couch and there is an imperfection in the middle of the hide, that will not be an issue if you are making something smaller. The leather can be used to make a wide variety of items such as wallets, jewelry, cell phone cases, key chains, earrings, clothing items, shoes, and much more.
